In a time crunch and craving pizza or a flatbread? This is the recipe for you! Our homemade kale and walnut pesto really provides a great punch of flavor while adding all of the benefits that kale has to offer. The sweet and savory combination on this pizza really hits the spot.
Really simple folks. Buy a premade crust. Typically we would suggest a homemade crust but we also understand that sometime that is not always possible.
Cover with pesto (as much or as little as you like).
Add crumbled walnuts evenly over the pizza.
Add chopped onions.
Place pear slices on top.
Put in the oven and bake according to crust directions.
Drizzle with balsamic glaze when the pizza is finished.
Balsamic Glaze
To make balsamic glaze, simply take ½ cup balsamic vinegar and reduce down to a syrup consistency over medium heat in a saucepan. A good quality balsamic vinegar might only take a few minutes to reduce down to a sweet, syrupy glaze. Don’t be tempted to add sugar to speed it up, it doesn’t help the flavor and is unwanted sugar.
